This week's quiz is a logic
puzzle.
Space
Cadets
With the recommendations of their
instructors, six recent graduates of the prestigious Lune Space
Academy have decided to continue their studies outside of the
economy. Each cadet has chosen a different field in which to
specialize, and each is going to a different planet (Jupiter,
Mars, Mercury, Pluto, Saturn, or Venus) to study a chosen field.
After signing up for the space shuttle voyage, each cadet was
given a uniform with a different interplanetary emblem. From the
information provided, determine the field each cadet has chosen,
the planet on which each cadet will continue studies, and the
emblem on each one's uniform.
Emily isn't going to
Venus, isn't studying astronautics, and isn't wearing the
comet emblem. Corey didn't select transcendent biology
(which wasn't chosen by the cadet wearing the rocket
emblem). Saturn isn't the planet Wesley chose.
The cadet travelling to
Pluto (who isn't Ashley) isn't the one whose uniform is
adorned with the spaceman. Corey isn't the cadet studying
molecular transmutation. Zachary, who isn't specializing
in transcendent biology, isn't traveling to Mercury. The
hyperspatial-travel student isn't the one going to Mars
(which isn't the planet chosen by the cadet wearing the
comet emblem) or Jupiter.
Ashley isn't headed for
Saturn. Zachary, who isn't studying molecular
transmutation, doesn't wear the comet emblem. Jamie (who
doesn't wear the moon emblem) isn't the one going to
Pluto (who wears neither the rocket nor the star emblem).
The transcendent biology
cadet, who isn't Wesley, doesn't wear the spaceman
emblem. The gravitational-manipulation cadet doesn't wear
either the moon emblem (which isn't worn by the one
traveling to Jupiter) or the star emblem. Neither the
person studying astronautics (who isn't going to Saturn)
nor the transcendent biology cadet is the one who wears
the asteroid emblem. Corey isn't studying astronautics
(which isn't the field of the one going to Jupiter).
The one wearing the comet
(which isn't the emblem on Wesley's uniform) isn't
studying on either Jupiter or Saturn. The one who wears
the moon emblem, who isn't going to Pluto, isn't the
cadet who'll specialize in hyperspatial-travel (which
isn't Corey's field). The one who wears the rocket, who
isn't studying astronautics, isn't the one traveling to
Mercury. Jamie (whose uniform doesn't feature the star)
isn't the one studying ultraphysics and isn't going to
Venus (which isn't the destination of the cadet that
wears the rocket).
Jamie, who is neither the
one who wears the spaceman emblem nor the one traveling
to Mercury, isn't the one studying molecular
transmutation (who isn't going to Jupiter). The
gravitational-manipulation cadet doesn't wear the rocket
emblem. Emily, who isn't the one who wears the star
emblem, isn't going to Saturn (which isn't the
destination of the cadet studying hyperspatial-travel).
