The Starr Report

The American people have seen, heard, and experienced a lot in recent weeks. The probe that was launched has uncovered many secrets. The secrets have found their way to books, and television screens inside American homes. Was all of this necessary? I think not.

I might be considered too young to write about such topics, but many people are unaware that all this information has penetrated the walls of all schools. Between periods, and after school, many students gossip about such disgusting topics. Segments of the tapes have been repeated more times than one. After all of this, if people think that such information is not being passed on to children, they had better pay a visit to a psychiatrist. Talk of the Clinton Scandal, is scattered over all over school campuses. These talks certainly detract from the morals that are taught to us by our parents. This has been a direct result of the way the media has chased the Clinton Scandal and the release of material on the Internet.

If such intensive coverage could have been avoided, the daily talks at the water fountains in school would have been about something more appropriate. The way the media salivated when they heard about such a story and the zest with which they pursued this in order to keep it alive in peoples’ mind is terrifying. The media has fanned on a diminishing fire many times, trying the best it can to keep it hot. The amazing homerun derby was not enough to distract the media from this sordid story.

America is the symbol of ultimate democracy. The videotapes that were released, the Starr Report, everything to do with this murky affair that was exposed to the public, is an example of that democracy. The public has a right to know such things, but many people have reacted with disgust at the report. Does that not suggest that this report should never have been released? The President of the United States of America has been urged to resign repeatedly by his political foes. Many people believe that all of the reports released were a tactical move by those foes. The president’s approval rating remains high even after he has been bombarded with accusations. Yet more of such things are being released, something that is unnecessary. The world knows all there is to know about the president, and the scandal.

All the questions have been answered; all the doubts have been erased. The people already know all there is to know. There has been a lot of dust left in the trail of this controversy, and I have a feeling that it will be a long time before it all settles.
