Space: The Final Frontier There has been one place that has intrigued man forever. One place that holds a special place in all of our hearts, one place that will be present forever, one place that has been called the final frontier, that one place is space. Space has always been a motivation to man. The desire to break free of the Earth and go beyond has compelled mankind. Building super-machines that are capable of breaking free of the gravity that holds us down has nurtured human thoughts, and shaped the attitudes of many. The challenge that space presents is one of the largest factors that contribute to mans tremendous interest in space. The unpredictability, the delicacy of each mission are some of the incredible amount of factors that put the astronaut repeatedly in danger. Apollo 11 was the first ship ever to land on the moon, and since that moment in 1969, man has gone on to conquer other planets and he has succeeded. Mankind in its own way has cried out several times in a unanimous voice that it will not back down from any challenges, the vastness and dangers of space will not intimidate it [mankind]. Man has proved that space does not rule over them, but they rule over space. Although this fact has been proved more than once, space still draws attention of every eye in the world, and each eye that looks at space never fails to gape at the beauty that stands before them. Space is perhaps the only object that draws such global attention. When Mir was plagued with problems, every news station in the world informed its viewers of the difficulties that presided over the astronauts in that aging space station. When Apollo 13 faced one problem after the another, thousands of people around the world prayed for only three lives, when they probably would not care so much about any other three lives. Mans thirst to conquer space has united the world several times, and will continue to do so forever. The Earth is believed to be a spec of sand when compared to the enormity of the universe, but this spec of sand has conquered a rock, and will eventually reign over the entire universe.
