  1. The riverboat was crowded with passengers and was motoring down a tropical river, when a snake fell off an overhanging branch onto the boat. All the passengers rushed to the other side of the boat. This unbalanced the boat, which capsized.
  2. When the president died he was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition. When he died, all the ropes on the flagpoles around the country were loosened, as the flags were flown at half-mast.
  3. The old man was a priest and he was sitting alone when a man confessed to him that he had murdered his aunt for money. The priest realized that the woman in the newspaper was the murder victim. The seal of the confessional meant that he could not tell the police.
  4. His home was a houseboat on the sea. He put on his scuba gear and dived to 200 feet. One should ascend from such depths slowly in order to depressurize. He came up too quickly and suffered a severe attack of the "Bends," from which he died.
  5. One of the wheels from the truck had worked loose and come out a little earlier. It had continued to roll along the road. As he stood by his truck he was hit by the runaway wheel.
  6. They were travelling in a hot-air balloon. When the circular circumference of the balloon crossed an electric power line, the balloon crashed and all the passengers died.
  7. He pours out the water from his bottle and fills it with gasoline from the car. He stuffs the handkerchief into the top of the bottle to make a Molotov cocktail. he waits until the sniper approaches the car and then lights the handkerchief before hurling the bottle at his attacker.
