  1. The woman was alone and asleep in her house when she was awakened by the sound of her musical juke-box. She knew a burglar was in the house so she pulled out a gun from under her pillow and shot him.
  2. The car was stationary. The man's wife was deaf and dumb. She used sign language to tell her husband that she was having an affair with another man and was leaving him.
  3. She was a knife-thrower's assistant in a circus act. He blindfolded and threw knives at her with unerring accuracy. Unfortunately her new shoes had much higher heels than her normal shoes. Therefore, she died.
  4. The Archduke Ferdinand's uniform was sewn on to his body so that he looked immaculately smart. It could not be removed quickly. His desire to look smart probably cost him his life.
  5. She was a sky diver who packed her parachute too quickly. The parachute did not deploy correctly when she pulled the ripcord.
  6. He had faked his own kidnapping and demanded a large sum of money. He sent in someone else's finger with his ring on it to force the ransom demand.
  7. During W.W.II, the German soldiers trained dogs to carry explosive charges under tanks and then wait there until the charge exploded, destroying dog and tank. They then released the dogs near Russian tank positions. Unfortunately for the Germans, Russian tanks did not smell anything like German tanks, on which the dogs had been trained, so the dogs hunted around until they found German tanks to sit under. Consequently, they had to be shot and the whole sorry scheme abandoned.
  8. His home was his ocean going yacht. He lost his way and his radio following a storm on an ocean voyage and eventually ran out of fresh water.
  9. The man was a disc jockey who during his show put on a long piece of music and slipped out to kill his wife. He had timed the plan perfectly and would claim that he was on the air throughout the evening as his alibi. After killing the woman, he drove hurriedly back and turned on the radio. He heard the music repeating as the record skipped. He knew his cover was blown and he shot himself.
  10. The man was a bee-keeper. The after-shave changed his smell and the swarm of bees that knew him well now attacked him as a stranger.
